We'll be having our semi-annual club meeting in July of this year, 2023. Exact details are to be determined. We will be voting in new board members. President (Special Election), Vice-President/Matchmaker, Secretary and Sergeant-at-Arms are up for re-election. Our current President, Mike McMannis will not be continuing as President, so we'll be looking for a new member to take his place. As Robert's position at Sergeant-at-arms is up, he will be running for President (which leaves Sergeant-at-Arms open) but if you're interested in any of these positions, please let a board member know, we like to have multiple canadates when possible!
Thanks to everyone who attended today's club meeting where we voted in Mike McManus as President and Robert Deme as Sgt. of Arms. Also Dennis and Cindi will continue their rolls as Vice-President/Matchmaker and Secretary respectively.
Discussed match schedule, along with the option to bowl Granda/Livermore for the first time. Majority was not for the long travel (2.5 hours). We'll continue to discuss but if we dont' have enough people willing to travel, we won't pursue.
Shirts will be on the way shortly, as stock should be showing up shortly.
Prosperity Lanes as now open and allowing Match Club to bowl! Not all clubs are in the same state, but we'll try and get some matches going asap!
As it stands, if all goes well, Prosperity Lanes may be reopening in June. Art is currently waiting for the Nevada County Public Health Department to give him approval to open. Unfortunately, in an effort to continue combating the spread of covid-19, this opening will only be for local residents. Hopefully, as more of the state opens restrictions, it would allow for more non-essential travel, and would allow for situations such as match club competitions to continue. Additionally, I believe it may be a requirement to allow for local short term residencies, such as hotels and VRBOs, to reopen.
Due to the COVID-19 shelter in place and social distancing, we will reschedule all events through at least May 2020. We'll post/e-mail everyone with updates as they become available...
Out Trip to Gold Country Sutter Creek this past weekend was great fun. At the top of the list was Delano's 300 game.....
Our club meeting at Trailblazer's Pizza was a great success! We had a great turn out and got plenty of topics taken care of. Welcome to the board Michael Horne as our new Treasurer! Below are some bullet points of the meeting for those who did not attend ...
We had a great turnout, and some great bowling this Saturday @ home vs Pacific Ave. We won 3 out 4 and had a great time.
We had a great time in Redding this weekend bowling Country Bowl Match Club and Shasta Lanes Match Club. We had some really close games, and plenty of fun by all!
Semi-Annual Club Meeting. Board Member Voting! Please plan to attend. Event will be at Trail Blazers Pizza @ Alta Sierra & hwy 49. Officers up for re-election: President, Assistant Match Maker & Treasure. Dan & Rhonda will be re-running for President/Ast. Match Maker. Carla will be stepping down as Treasure. Michael Horne will be on the ticket for Treasure. If you want to run for office, or want to nominate someone, please drop us a email.
Our club meeting and membership drive was a great success! We managed 5 new members, and had a great time bowling no-tap!We did vote in the new 21 game average system. What this means is that we will use the last 21 games as your average, regardless of what season those last 21 games were played. This will prevent wild changes in your average at the start of each 'season'. This is a perfectly valid way of doing average according the USBC.
We'll be having a semi-annual Membership Club Meeting on Jan 26th @ Prosperity Lanes, Start time is 12:00 Noon. We'll be discussing a few important things, including a proposed new average method for the club, as well as some important up and coming events. After the meeting we'll be putting on a no-tap sweepers event. This will be open to ANYONE, so invite your friends and fellow bowlers to come and join us! The cost for the event will be $10 for members and $20 for non-members. If the non-member wants to join the club, we'll refund them $10 on acceptance into the club! Tell all your friends about match club!
Club Meeting took place at Prosperity Lanes on Sept 16, 2018, we voted the three board positions that were up for renewal. The existing board members at these positions all agreed to continue at their position and to club voted to accept this. Match Maker is Dennis Racine, Secretary: Cindi Racine and Sgt. at Arms is Patrick Kerr. They will continue for another 2 year term.
We had a great diner as we said good bye to James and Peggy. Hope to see them again soon, but wish them well as they journey to Oklahoma!
We had a pretty good turnout at our Semi-Annual meeting at Carla's. Special thanks for Carla for hosting, and cooking for us all!
We voted in the following new board members:
President: James Ross
Assistant Match Maker: Rhonda Horne
Treasure: Carla Burke (returning)
Sergeant-at-arms: Peggy Ross
We talked about a great number of things, most noteworthy, new member recruitment, everyone should be helping with recuiting new members that want to travel with the club. Second was sign-ups/availability for matches. Please let us know asap if you can match up and coming matches at least a week or two in advance so we can plan accordingly!

It's that time again! Our Semi-Annual Club Meeting! We have a lot of things to do at this meeting, so please try your hardest to make this one (Remember you need to make at least one a year). This year we will have our meeting August 20th, right after our match vs High Sierra at home. Carla Burke has offered to host it at our house in Nevada City (11600 Red Dog Rd). 2:00pm. (note that this date was changed on the schedule) The Club will be providing BBQ Chicken (the Chief's Choice) as well as soda's and water. We'd like everyone to a 'side' or snack/desert pot-luck style in addition. Should be great fun to hang out on Carla's new deck!
We need to order new 200 pins for the club, so we've been looking into to get our old 'gold pan' pin re-created as the original producers of the pin are no longer in business. As such we've found someone that can re-create our existing 200 pin, but we were also offered a 'new' style pin that we really like, so we're looking for some feedback. The cost seems to be pretty close so that isn't really a factor...
Gold Country Match Club now has a official facebook page, so check it out at: https://www.facebook.com/goldcountrymatchclub
Great time at Fremont last weekend. We took 4 out of 8 so that was great everyone considering we were short 3 people. The people were great at Fremont, and we'll be looking forward to them coming up next month to us.
Our away match vs. Shasta on April 2-3 is set. You can get details here: (Note you need to be logged in to see who's assigned to the match).
Out next match after that is a 1 day match down in Rocklin, so if you can attend, or not get signed up now.
The schedule system online here is now tied in with the new match maker software, so as you make yourself available/maybe/Can't go it will automatically update your status in the system, so please use it, and let us know, even if you can't go, as it really helps to know if you're available or not.
Our first match at our new home went great. We won 7 out 8, which is great. We even managed to get shirts in time for all our new members, way to go everyone.
